Mark 6

By February 3, 2015No Comments

In the following article you will find a brief commentary on Mark 6 that goes along with our Riverside Church Two Year Bible Reading Plan (Volume 1 & Volume 2).  This plan will allow you to read the New Testament and Psalms once every year and the Old Testament once every two years.

Mark 6

Rejection It is astounding to see Jesus rejected in his hometown in light of all the good that he is doing.  And yet this is a pattern throughout scripture: man often resists the purposes of God.

We see it in the rejection at Nazareth, but also in the senseless death of John the Baptist.  And our Lord warns us that at times we will also be rejected as his followers (John 15:18ff).

Remember, Mark is telling us about Jesus through the eyewitness accounts of Peter.  His purpose is to invite us to follow Jesus.  Our response is to be one of faith (5:34).
